Two Detained by the Army at Dabua Polling Center in Kaukhalī, Later Released

During voting in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the army detained two individuals at the Dabua Headman Para Government Primary School polling center in Kaukhalī Upazila of Rangamati, according to reports.

It is learned that they were detained at around 3:00 p.m. today, Thursday (12 February 2026), while they were going to cast their votes.

The detained individuals are Kasau Marma, son of Angshi Marma, and Uhlaching Marma, son of Mongsiaong Marma. Both are residents of Raktachari Para village of Ward No. 3 under No. 2 Fatikchari Union, and supporters of independent candidate Pahel Chakma from the Rangamati-299 parliamentary constituency.

It has been reported that false allegations of casting fake votes were brought against them.

However, local sources said that after being detained for some time, they were later released.
