AN UPDF activist, Bhubhan Bijoy Chakma alias Diction, 30, was wounded when an armed group loyal to Santu Larma, the chairman of his faction of the Jana Samhati Samiti, stormed into a tea shop in Ramhori Para village under Ghilachari Union in Naniachar Upazila of Rangamati district yesterday, 7 February.

He and his party colleagues were holding a meeting when the attack took place. The Santu group men, who lay in wait near the shop for them, chased and fired at them indiscriminately, wounding Bhubonjoy seriously.

He lay on the ground in a pool of blood, unconscious, and was left by Santu group for dead.
