THE settlers held a procession in the evening in Manikchari with the bodies of three settlers who were killed when the Jummas resisted their land grab attempt earlier in the day.
At one stage, at 7:25pm, the angry settlers set fire to 8 houses belonging to Jumma people at Mahamuni Tila.
The settlers also looted Jumma houses in Manikchari bazaar and Rajpara after the Jummas fled from their homes.
More settlers have been gathered in Manikchari. Jummas fear that there could be more such attacks in the night.
