AN
autistic Jumma girl has been reportedly raped by a Bengali settler in Sajek in
Rangamati district.
Locals
said the incident happened at 3pm today at Nakshachari under Sajek Union while
the victim, a 16-year-old girl, went out for a walk.
Finding
her alone, Md. Mamun, 20, son of Jalil, of Baghaihat bazaar, took her into a
roadside jungle and committed rape on her.
The
villagers recovered the girl from the jungle, but failed to nab Mamun as he
escaped riding his motorbike.
The
incident was reported to the Baghaichari Thana, but the police are yet to
arrest him.
Preparations
are reportedly underway to file a regular case in this connection.
