16-YEAR-OLD Jumma girl was subjected to an attempted rape on Tuesday, 27
January at Sapmara village in Matiranga Upazilla.
Md. Habib, a construction worker,
attacked the girl when she went to the jungle nearby their house on
Khagrachari-Chittagong road.
Habib grabbed the hands of his
victim and tried to shove her on the ground.
But as the screamed for help,
people from nearby area rushed there and rescued her.
Habib was caught and found guilty
in an arbitration in which the local UP member, village chief and labour
leaders were present.
He was fined with Taka 10
thousand and deported from Khagrachari district.
No case has been filed with the
police in connection with the incident.
