A Jumma
woman has been reportedly subjected to an attempted rape in Bot-toli village
under Bormachari Union in Laxmichari Upazilla of Khagrachari district.
The
incident happened on Tuesday, 24 February.
The
18-year-old was cooking in her house at 4 p.m. when Md. Seraj from Noatya Para
under Kanchan Nagar Union in neighboring Fatikchari Upazilla suddenly went
inside, grabbed her and tried to rape her.
The
woman resisted, and as she screamed for help at one stage her husband and
neighbours working in nearby fields rushed there and rescued her.
Seraj
was caught and beaten.
However
no case has been filed till the filing of this report at 7 p.m.
