Bengali
settlers have reportedly attempted to grab two acres of land belonging to
Chayabazi Chakma (50) in Kyang-ghat village in Mohalchari Upazilla in Khagrachari
district.
The
incident took place on Monday, 23 February.
According
to sources, a group of Bengali settlers, 10-12 in number, from Kyang-ghat
cluster village made the attempt by trespassing into his land.
The
settlers began clearing the jungle to construct houses there. But when the
Jumma villagers resisted, the settlers went back.
Md.
Shahidul Islam (25), Ajgor Ali (22) and Kuddus (26) were among the trespassers.
