THE
POLICE have arrested another Jumma in Dighinala in connection with a case filed
by police following the 15 march crackdown on a foot march organized by
Dighinala Land Protection Committee.
The
police arrested Shuddhojoy Chakma (46), a resident of Khetropur village in
Kobakhali Union, from in front of the Development Board Office at Dighinala
bazar at 10 a.m. today.
He went
to the bazar (market) to buy items needed to offer to a monk to become a
Buddhist novice under him.
Earlier
on 15 March, the army had arrested 14 Jummas as part of the crackdown. Later
three of them were released, but the court had sent the rest including a
collage girl, Lilu Chakma, to jail in Khagrachari.
