AT LEAST eight Jummas have been injured when the
army personnel attacked a foot march organized by Land Protection Committee in
Dighinala.
Some of the seriously injured have been admitted to different
hospitals in Khagrachari district, while the organizers refused to name the
victims fearing they may be harassed and implicated in false cases.
Following the foot march, which was held to press
the demand for relocation of the headquarters of BGB 51 Battalion and rehabilitation
of 21 families evicted by it, the army arrested twenty Jummas from Boradam bazar
and Mieni bridge area.

Shanti Chakma, a teacher of Boalkhali Orphanage in Dighinala.
The army personnel also fired at another person who
