THE
ARMY on Saturday night searched two houses belonging to Jumma activists in
Sajek in Rangamati district.
A
joint team of army and police raided the house of Jenel Chakma, vice president of Democratic Youth Forum Sajek Unit, in
Champatoli village at midnight, after failing to find him at his shop nearby.
His
wife, Monjurika Chakma, tried to desist the army from entering the house, but the
soldiers broke into and searched it.
They
also hurled abusive languge at her.
The
army raided his house for the second time on Sunday afternoon, villagers said.
In
another incident, the army also raided the house of Binoy Kanti Chakma, a
member of Sajek Union Council and a member of Sajek Land Protection Committe, in
the early hours of Sunday.
They
tried to scare him, telling him that the army had lots of allegations against
him.
He
was called to Baghaihat zone later in the morning and was threatened with
criminal cases to be filed against him if he did not stop ‘anti-state
activities.
