News No.138/2015: Thursday, September 03, 2015

THE army on Wednesday arrested two leaders of the Hill Students’ Council, better known as by its Benglai acronym PCP, from Baghaichari No. 10 while they were returning from Khagrachari by a motorbike.

However, they were released a few hours later at 9pm after being tortured, sources said.

The soldiers had blocked them near Shuknachari passenger shed at about 5pm and then taken them to Baghaihat zone, where they were tortured physically and psychologically.

Assentu Chakma, general secretary of PCP Baghaichari Unit, and Sumon Chakma, its finance secretary, were arrested by army while they were on their way back home from Khagrachari, a PCP leader told chtnews.com.

Both of them are studying at Kachalong Degree College.
