SIX mobile handsets were snatched away by members of the Jargo Party vigilante group as they raided Harinath Para under Golabari Union in Khagrachari district under army protection on Saturday night, December 02.

The Jargo Party terrorists were accompanied by members of the JSS-MN Larma faction, one of whom has been identified by locals as Milon Tripura from Thana Chandra Para village.

According to the victims’ and eyewitnesses’ accounts, the Jargo Party members raided Harinath Para at 9 p.m. with active support from the army.

One of the victims told chtnews.com, ‘We were having a discussion at the local Buddhist temple ground when the Jargo Party men came and then snatched away our mobile phones.’

The terrorists also raided Democratic Youth Forum activist Makin Chakma’s home and searched for him, he said.

While the Jargo Party miscreants were doing this, a group of army personnel took up positions at Saat Bheiya Para, a village adjacent to Harinath Para, to provide protection for them.
